By Katherine Avila—
I want to tell her,
Tell her what I see—
Feel!
But what if I tell her?
Would she smile and shake her head,
And reply with her eyes—big and brown, that says “bullshit!”
—what I say is a lie,
Or would she accept me?
Accept the unknown and the colors around me,
Accept the blues, greens, reds...
I don’t like to read—
Not without your permission,
So please don’t crumple my truth to origami—
One that only fits for you
